My university car club always does a trip up there over our spring break. It’s a grand old time.

I’m “only” two hours away. Freakishly, a good bit of Tennessee is just as far away from me as the TotD or less, because long tail of WNC is loooong.
There’s also the part where I don’t have anything running and worth driving on the dragon right now, so there’s that.

Make sure you don’t bother doing any of the official events. I should definitely be down there again, so you are more than welcome to join me. I plan on avoiding the dragon for the most part (other than evening/night time) but there are some other roads that are just purely amazing. I will probably end up camping again since that worked out perfectly.

Always gotta have an excuse to make another trip. My girlfriend thinks I am absolutely nuts to go drive 10 hours “just to drive around all day when I get there”. I mean she isn’t wrong, but it’s so worth it!

its starting to look like I might do 2 trips this year. One a littler earlier and one during miatas at the Gap (Jake and wrong_wheel_drive_NOT might be there)
